Just a pastor

I serve as the Lead Pastor at The Oceanside Sanctuary in North San Diego County. Founded in 1875, it is one of the oldest Protestant congregations in southern California. I currently serve in the Disciples of Christ, with whom I hold Ministry Standing, and am also ordained with the Vineyard Community of Churches, where I served for 12.

I ministered for 15 years in small and large churches in Utah, Ohio, and California before leaving ministry for 5 years to work in the nonprofit sector as a marketing and fundraising executive. That experience radically shifted my perspective on church leadership in an increasingly post-religious society.

And a teacher

I am also a part-time member of the Human Development faculty at California State University San Marcos, where I teach nonprofit leadership and management, social policy and social programs, and therapeutic interviewing skills. I earned my M.A. in Global Leadership at Fuller Theological Seminary.
